Treatment of expression wrinkles.
Botulinum toxin type A works by reversibly inhibiting neuromuscular transmission, which reduces excessive activity of selected facial expression muscles.
Most common treatment areas:
- forehead – horizontal lines,
- glabellar area (“frown lines”),
- lateral eye area (“crow’s feet”),
- bunny lines – transverse nasal lines visible when smiling or squinting,
- smoker’s lines (perioral area),
- downturned mouth corners,
- chin (so-called “orange peel” or “cobblestone” chin).
The goal is wrinkle smoothing while preserving a natural-looking facial expression.
