Profhilo® is a medical product based on highly purified hyaluronic acid (HA), stabilized in a unique thermal process (without chemical cross-linkers). It has a very high diffusion capacity in tissues and is used to improve skin quality—hydration, elasticity and firmness—without a volumizing effect.

Profhilo® is not a classic filler or a typical skinbooster; it acts as a biological modulator of the skin environment.

Mechanism of action

After injection into tissues:

• hyaluronic acid binds water in the extracellular matrix,
• improves dermal hydration,
• supports activation of fibroblasts, keratinocytes and adipocytes,
• supports extracellular-matrix reorganization,
• improves skin elasticity and resilience.

The clinical effect results from improved biological functions of the skin, not mechanical tissue filling.

Profhilo® is characterized by:

• rapid onset of hydration and improved skin firmness,
• gradual improvement in skin quality over subsequent weeks,
• no change in facial features.

Best outcomes are typically achieved in a two-step protocol (most often 2 treatments spaced a few weeks apart).
